Technology Scotland is proud to support the Women in Tech initiative as an ambassador organisation and welcomes the UK Government's announcement of a new package of measures designed to improve opportunities for women across the technology sector.
Developed through the Women in Tech Taskforce, the initiative includes plans for two new voluntary standards focused on workplace culture and investment practices, alongside a dedicated scale-up programme for women founders due to launch in 2027.
The measures aim to address persistent barriers that can limit progression, leadership opportunities and access to investment for women in technology. Through the proposed Tech Forward Standard and Inclusive Investment Standard, organisations and investors will be encouraged to adopt more inclusive practices that support greater participation and long-term success across the sector.
The announcement also includes a new scale-up programme for women founders of high-potential businesses, providing support through activities such as workshops, peer learning, networking and introductions to investors.
As an ambassador organisation, Technology Scotland recognises that the future success of the technology sector depends on attracting, developing and retaining talented people. We welcome initiatives that help create more opportunities for women to build successful careers and businesses in technology, while strengthening the skills, leadership and innovation that underpin sector growth.
