On Wednesday 6th September, Technology Scotland, through its Product Design Scotland Network, delivered the fourth in its ‘Design for the Future of…’ series. This event, Design for the Future of Sustainability, focussed on the role of design in transitioning from traditional linear economy models to more sustainable, circular economy approaches.

Panellists:
• Colin Kennedy, Partner, Manufacturing, Zero Waste Scotland
• Ben Durack, Director, Origin Plastics Limited
• Robert Lynch, Senior Design Engineer, NMIS
• Mark Ravilious, Founding Director, Intra Drive Limited

Following the panel session, attendees were split into three groups to consider the following discussion topics:
• Where are the key opportunity areas for design/innovation in relation to sustainability in the next 5 years?
• What are the main challenges to design/innovation in these areas?
