Technology Scotland recently caught up with our member, QURECA,  for our Member Spotlight series. We find out who QURECA are, what they do, and much more! Take a look below and get to know them.

What does your organisation do?

QURECA is dedicated to supporting the growth of the quantum technology sector by providing a comprehensive suite of services: · Quantum Education & Training: We offer a wide range of training formats for all levels – from non-technical learners to quantum professionals. Our offerings include online courses, in-person or virtual live training and classroom education kits for early education and customised in-person corporate workshops. Our goal is to make quantum education accessible, adaptable, and relevant across industries and learning styles.

· Quantum Consulting for Businesses: We help organisations explore and integrate quantum technologies through a unique three-axis approach – assessing technological readiness, strategic positioning, and workforce capability. This framework ensures a tailored quantum adoption roadmap aligned with each client’s business goals and timeline.

· Community & Networking: QURECA actively builds quantum communities by hosting and coordinating events that connect researchers, businesses, and industry leaders. Our work bridges the gap between academia and industry by delivering impactful quantum education, skills development, and strategic guidance worldwide.

What is your organisation’s biggest achievement?

We’ve had the privilege of leading several pioneering initiatives that have shaped the global quantum landscape.

One of our proudest achievements is organising the first dedicated quantum technology conferences in Eastern Europe and South America – a milestone that demonstrated our commitment to inclusivity and global outreach in the quantum space. These events sparked regional quantum ecosystems, fostered international collaboration, and brought fresh voices into the conversation.

We have also been instrumental in shaping pan-European educational strategies, including our leadership role in the QTIndu initiative and the ADEQUATE programme, which had hundreds of sign-ups even before its official launch. Our work has been sought out by national and international institutions – we’ve provided strategic advice to both the UK Government and the European Council regarding the future of quantum education and workforce development.

Since our founding in 2019, we’ve developed robust training programmes that serve a wide spectrum of learners — from C-suite executives and policymakers to technicians, engineers, and early-stage students. This holistic approach is vital in an industry where quantum workforce needs are not only growing rapidly but also changing dynamically.

All this said, one of our greatest achievements is being recognised as a trusted provider of high-quality quantum education and consulting services. We’ve become a key part of the growing quantum ecosystem.

Tell us something exciting about your organisation

One exciting development at QURECA is the increasing global popularity of our specialised training programmes, which are now used by learners and organisations in over 20 countries. Our course “Quantum Security: Preparing for the Post-Quantum World” has become particularly relevant as organisations face the real and pressing threat of “harvest now, decrypt later” attacks. This underscores the urgent need for quantum-safe solutions — not in the future, but right now.

What makes us most excited, however, is the diversity of sectors and audiences we’re reaching. We’ve worked with clients in finance, healthcare, logistics, aerospace, and beyond, helping them understand and apply quantum concepts relevant to their domain.

We are especially proud of our efforts to bring quantum education to younger audiences through tools like the Qureka! Box. This hands-on quantum classroom kit introduces school students to quantum computing fundamentals — a bold step forward, as formal quantum education at pre-university level is still virtually uncharted territory.

From virtual modules to in-person corporate training, the global reach and tangible impact of our programmes show how we’re helping shape the next generation of quantum-literate professionals — and that’s truly exciting.

Why did you join Technology Scotland?

Our decision to join Technology Scotland was driven by its role as a facilitator of cross-sector collaboration within Scotland’s innovation ecosystem. While its focus includes enabling technologies such as photonics and advanced manufacturing, we see great value in engaging with a wider network of forward-thinking organisations that are shaping the future of tech.

Through this membership, we’ve had the opportunity to exchange ideas, explore synergies, and share our expertise with companies that may soon be touched by quantum advances — whether directly or through enabling technologies.

This collaborative environment aligns closely with QURECA’s mission: to bridge the gap between theoretical advancements in quantum science and practical, real-world applications. As the quantum landscape evolves, our partnerships with cross-disciplinary networks like Technology Scotland will be key to ensuring readiness, awareness, and accessibility across sectors.
