In December 2019, Technology Scotland and ScotlandIS ran an interactive workshop exploring the role of data in supporting future transport solutions. The workshop was delivered through the organisations’ clusters in Mobility as a Service, Data and Cyber Security and brought together stakeholders from within the transport, communications and data communities. You can find the post event report here.

The success of this meeting led to the creation of the MaaS Scotland Special Interest Group in Data for Mobility, the first meeting of which was held online on 28th April. This group brings together specialists from the worlds of data and mobility, offering a forum to share ideas, explore opportunities, and discuss solutions to some of the biggest challenges when bringing the value of data to future mobility services.

At April’s meeting attendees heard presentations from Fergus Cloughley, CEO, Obashi (The Value of Data Flow and the Obashi Methodology) and Chris Thompson, CEO, You. Smart. Thing. (YST Travel Assistant in response to Covid crisis). Coin Balfour, Steering Board Member, MaaS Scotland, then introduced the session’s discussion topic, The value and ethics of using personal mobility data to monitor Covid-19.

This group will run regular online monthly meetings over the coming months. If you are interested in attending please register your interest here.
