Technology Scotland is pleased to share the next Practical Photonics Skills Course, delivered in partnership with the University of Strathclyde and the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS), will take place from 18-22 August.

The Practical Photonics Skills Course, is designed for those already operating in the sector who would benefit from a refresh or upskilling in key technical areas. It would also be suitable for anyone eager to break into the photonics sector, regardless of prior experience.

Throughout the course, delegates will gain practical experience in laser safety, optics handling, laser alignment techniques, and electronics and optomechanical design and more. The hands-on sessions are complemented by activities that build confidence with essential equipment, such as lenses, filters, interferometers, and optical fibres.

The course also includes a certification of completion, ensuring participants walk away with valuable skills recognized by industry professionals.
