As part of the Navigating the Design to Manufacture Journey series, Product Design Scotland and the Knowledge Transfer Network talk with HAX mentor Alan Clayton about the challenges facing hardware innovators around funding, manufacturing and design.
HAX offers venture funding and a hands-on program to help startups enabled by hardware move at lightning speed. They help early stage companies through their development and scaling phases, at their offices in Shenzhen and San Francisco.
With a $250,000 investment package, a 3-6 month intense support programme and 9 start dates per year, so far HAX has helped almost 250 hardware startups.
Alan Clayton has been with HAX since inception of the world class accelerator programme in 2012. As well as supporting other accelerator programmes with SOSV (Indie-Bio, dlab and Food X, for example) Alan has helped all of the HAX start-ups on their journey.
Abi Hird (ktn manufacturing team) and Ally McInroy (Technology Scotland) welcome Alan to a “fireside” zoom call session as they discuss navigating the design to manufacture journey before opening up the conversation for audience Q&A.
