With a long tradition of innovation, entrepreneurship and commercialisation, the design sector is one of Scotland’s key industries. Design itself covers a broad range of industries; however the common goal is to create or reimage products that are successful, innovative, and which provide a range of ground-breaking solutions to some of the world’s biggest challenges.
Through advances in technology, designers are providing innovative products across a number of global markets, including healthcare, energy, communications and mobility.Integration of these technologies, into viable, efficient and commercially attractive products is key, and the partnership between technology and product design is becoming ever more important.
With this in mind, Technology Scotland, the representative body for the Enabling Technologies Sector in Scotland, is proud to announce its newest network: Design Network Scotland.Through a growing community of Product Design companies in Scotland, our aim is to support the sector by:
* Promoting design-driven innovation in Scotland
* Facilitating collaboration and knowledge exchange to improve the competitiveness of the sector
* Building networks to shape the future of design in Scotland
For our first ever event, we’re delighted to invite designers and technologists in Scotland to an evening of presentations and networking, along with an informal drinks reception. We’ll be telling you more about our future plans for the network, the companies already engaged, and how you can get involved!
