The ECOC23 exhibition took place at the SEC in Glasgow from 2nd – 4th October. With over 330 companies showcasing the latest products and services, the exhibition was a key meeting place for more than 6700 attendees from across the optical communication technology industry.
Technology Scotland hosted a shared stand at the exhibition for 6 of our members, which was well received by both members and attendees. On the stand we had Alter, Chromacity, Fraunhofer UK, Helia Photonics, pureLiFi, and Vector Photonics.
Photonics Scotland was in attendance to represent our members and raise awareness of the Scottish photonics cluster. Having the opportunity to meet with our UK and international counterparts, raise awareness of the capabilities of the Scottish photonics sector and discuss shared topics of interest is always a key part of these types of events.
Our Senior Programme Manager for Photonics, Alison McLeod, was a panel member at the ECOC special session “Lessons learned from innovative women mentors in photonics and optics”, sharing the stage with fellow panel members Paola Iovanna (Ericsson) and Polina Bayvel (UCL), and moderator Jess Wade (Imperial College London), to discuss and share their inspiring stories and the challenges they have overcome.
The ECOC exhibition 2024 is scheduled to take place from 23rd – 25th September 2024 at Messe Frankfurt.
