Technology Scotland recently caught up with our member, Snapper Services, for our Member Spotlight series. We find out who Snapper Services are, what they do, and much more! Take a look below and get to know them.

What does your organisation do?

At Snapper Services, we create excellent public transit experiences that accelerate our journey to a sustainable world. Our Mosaiq Transit Intelligence Suite enables public transit operators and authorities to identify inefficiencies across routes, extend capabilities, and have complete data visibility over their operations.

Mosaiq combines data from across the network and presents it in Mosaiq Insights’ intuitive user dashboards. With Mosaiq Insights, operators and authorities can easily review on-time performance across core metrics like reliability and punctuality.

UK local government organisations including West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA) use the Mosaiq Transit Intelligence Suite to better to understand and resolve systemic transit flaws.

We support networks in UK, Europe, North America, New Zealand, and Australia, and work with a brilliant network of partners across the ITS ecosystem.

What is your organisation’s biggest achievement?

Since we launched the Mosaiq Transit Intelligence Suite in March 2023, we’ve quickly welcomed customers across New Zealand, Australia, the UK, and the US. We’ve innovated constantly to deliver excellent results for customers and partners, experimenting with new ways to generate vehicle location data and create insights using the tools already in the network.

On top of solving complex data problems, we’ve refined how we work with industry-standard data feeds, so we can add new authorities to the platform in days, not weeks.

We’re particularly proud of the new partnerships we’ve formed to grow Mosaiq. We’ve worked with Hayden AI to extend our technological capability, Optibus and AWS to support our innovation efforts, and Transit to create deeper insights by integrating their data feeds into Mosaiq Insights. Collaboration is one of Snapper’s core values, so the whole team has been so excited to work alongside all these organisations and more, like our long-standing partners at Vix Technology.

Tell us something exciting about your organisation

Recently, we announced our global partnership with Optibus. Optibus had some unique data needs and was looking for a partner who could accurately process some of its customers’ static and real-time data, and easily integrate this into a seamless experience.

The collaboration with Optibus has supported us to deliver results for authorities and operators in  the USA and Spain. They can now visualise complex data sets more easily, generate optimised schedules, and monitor the impact of service changes with one unified offering.

It’s also worth noting one of our most recent updates to our Mosaiq Insights platform, designed to promote trust and collaboration between transit authorities and operators in a range of scenarios and of particular relevance to operating models like bus franchising.

Now, local authority users of Mosaiq Insights can securely invite operators to view their own on-time performance data in the transit analytics tool. Operators can work out of the same platform with private access to their own data to ensure equal insight into performance information across the entire transit network. Authorities can work more closely with service providers to assess KPIs like reliability and punctuality and collaborate with operators to improve performance.

The goal is to build a collaborative and trusting partnership between all stakeholders, shifting the conversation from blaming one another to actively working together to continuously improve network performance.

Why did you join Technology Scotland?

As a technology provider, we are always looking for new ways to connect and collaborate with partners, authorities, and operators in the industry.

Scotland has an innovative public transit ecosystem, and some very experienced organisations are involved in Technology Scotland. We’re excited to be a part of it, and to work with and learn from the local industry.
