PDS Breakfast Seminar 2 – Getting the Most out of Prototyping

The second meeting in our new Product Design Scotland Breakfast Seminar Series.

Seminar Two – Getting the Most out of Prototyping – what makes sense and when?

Prototyping is a critical tool for innovation, allowing technology developers and designers to fail fast, learn quickly, and develop more successful products. By creating simplified versions of a product, developers can test functionality and gather feedback before full-scale development. The goal is not perfection but learning, providing an opportunity to quickly validate assumptions, identify usability issues, and refine key concepts in an iterative way.

Prototyping is an iterative process, involving cycles building, testing and improvement. This session will explore best practice with the aim to get the most out of this process. We will discuss key elements such as timing, costs and materials while identifying those common misconceptions that can lead to problems further down the development journey.

We will be joined by Stuart Kelly, Technical Director, Systolic and Derek Liddle, Owner, Invent Design Build.
