In 2019, the Scottish Optoelectronics Association (SOA) will celebrate its 25th Anniversary. To mark the occasion, the SOA is proud to announce the first ever ‘Scottish Photonics Week’, a week-long event celebrating Scotland’s long history in photonics expertise and showcasing its exciting plans for the future.
To open Scottish Photonics Week, we are delighted to announce a Civic Reception for the EPIC AGM, followed by SOA 25th Anniversary at Glasgow City Chambers, courtesy of the RH Lord Provost of Glasgow and with an address from Derek Mackay MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Finance, Economy and Fair Work. During the evening, we will also be presenting our White Paper, ‘Scottish Photonics: A Vision for 2030’ to the Cabinet Secretary.
Scottish Photonics Week will also see the SOA supporting EPIC to bring its Annual General Meeting to Scotland – the first time in its history that the event has been held in the UK. As such, in addition to bringing together leading figures from Scotland’s photonics sector, the event will also welcome a number of executive level attendees from across Europe, North America and Asia.
